Before you order #
What kind of website can I host with WebStrator? #
All standard websites: a showcase site, a WordPress blog, a PrestaShop store, a custom PHP application or a development site. Our hosting suits a first personal project just as well as a busy, high-traffic platform.
You get a complete web server, with MariaDB databases, professional mailboxes, FTP/FTPS access and scheduled tasks. To run a specific language or tool, such as a Node.js bot or a Redis database, CloudPods™ take over.
How do I know which configuration I need? #
The project builder starts from three ready-made profiles (individual, professional, agency) that you then adjust resource by resource. The price updates live, so you immediately see the effect of every addition.
If you are unsure, an advisor will help you choose your configuration free of charge. And since everything stays editable after ordering, a wrong estimate does not lock you in.
Build your project to see the price calculated live.
Can I host several websites within a single project? #
Yes. A project groups as many web hostings as you need, each carrying its own site with its own domain or subdomain. This is how freelancers and agencies manage their clients' websites from a single account.
You add a hosting for 0.35 € per month, a database for 0.25 €, a mailbox for 0.40 €. There is no need to switch plans as your business grows: the project grows with it.
Can I migrate a website already hosted elsewhere? #
Yes, and it is the most common case. You retrieve your files from your current host, upload them over FTP/FTPS, then import your database through phpMyAdmin. All that is left is pointing your domain to our servers.
Our support team guides you through every step, including preparing the switch with no downtime: your site stays online at your old host while you test with us. Write to us before you start and we will walk you through the right order.
How quickly is my hosting delivered? #
Immediately. Once payment is confirmed, your project is created and your credentials are available in your client area. Expect around two minutes between ordering and uploading your first file over FTP/FTPS.
No manual review, no activation delay. Resources you add later to an existing project are available straight away too.
Pricing and payment #
How does WebStrator's custom pricing work? #
Every resource has a clear unit price and you only pay for what you use: web hosting 0.35 € per month, database 0.25 €, mailbox 0.40 €, 0.85 € per 5 GB storage block. Your project price is simply the sum of what you picked.
No imposed plan, so no resources paid for nothing. That is the difference with tiered offers, where you often pay for the next tier up just to get one missing resource.
Build your project to see the line-by-line breakdown.
What discounts apply depending on the commitment period? #
The longer the period, the bigger the discount: 10% over 3 months, 20% over 6 months, 30% over 12 months and 50% over 24 months. The discount applies to your entire project, whatever resources it contains.
Payment is made in one go for the chosen period. Over 24 months, your hosting therefore costs half its monthly rate.
Which payment methods do you accept? #
Four payment methods: credit card with 3D Secure authentication, PayPal, Paysafecard and your WebStrator credits. Card and PayPal can be saved for later orders.
If your credits only cover part of the amount, the balance is paid by card or PayPal within the same order. Your CloudPod™ credits are reserved for funding your CloudPods™.
Can I add or remove resources during my subscription? #
Yes, at any time from your client area, without switching plans or placing a whole new order. You add a hosting, a database, a mailbox or disk space in a few clicks.
Additions are billed pro rata for the remaining time on your project, so your renewal dates stay aligned. That is the point of custom hosting: it follows your growth instead of constraining it.
Are there any setup fees or hidden costs? #
No. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay: no setup fee, no mandatory add-on, no surprise line on your invoice.
The SSL certificate, daily backups, anti-DDoS protection, FTP/FTPS access, scheduled tasks and the CMS installer are included as standard on every hosting, at no extra cost.
What is your refund policy? #
You have 24 hours after payment to request a refund, by opening a support ticket from your client area and stating the reason. The amount is refunded in full to the original payment method.
The guarantee covers payments made by credit card, PayPal or credits. It goes through support rather than an automatic button, which lets us understand what went wrong and, more often than not, fix it before any refund is needed.
How do renewal and cancellation work? #
Your project runs for the period chosen at checkout, and its expiry date is shown in your client area. You can see that date and the renewal option there at any time, for the same period or a different one.
To stop, simply do not renew: the project expires on its due date. Remember to retrieve your files and databases before then. Full terms are set out in our terms and conditions.
Performance and infrastructure #
Where are your servers hosted? #
Our servers are hosted in France. Your files, databases and mailboxes therefore stay on French soil, which means minimal latency for a French-speaking audience and a clear legal framework for your data.
This matters for professional sites subject to GDPR: as far as hosting is concerned, your data never leaves the European Union.
What hardware and connectivity do you use? #
All hosting runs on NVMe SSD storage, three to six times faster than a standard SSD. The difference shows directly in response times for a heavily loaded WordPress or PrestaShop.
On the network side, our infrastructure is connected at 10 Gbps, with 1 Gbps dedicated. Storage, compute and bandwidth are sized to absorb both a showcase site and a busy platform.
How do you protect my website against DDoS attacks? #
An anti-DDoS protection runs permanently across our infrastructure, with nothing to enable and no extra cost. Filtering happens upstream: malicious traffic is dropped before it reaches your hosting.
The protection is always on, not triggered after the fact. There is no window during which your site stays exposed while mitigation spins up.
How often is my website backed up? #
Your data is backed up every day, with one month of retention. You can therefore roll back to how your site looked several weeks ago, which covers the most common cases: a failed update, a broken plugin, an accidental deletion.
These backups are included and automatic. They do not replace your own copy before a risky operation, but they act as a permanent safety net.
What uptime can I expect from my hosting? #
Our infrastructure is built for high availability: redundant hardware, permanent monitoring and technical work scheduled outside peak hours. The goal is simple, keeping your site reachable at all times.
If an incident occurs, our team is on hand 7 days a week and keeps you posted through support and our Discord. Contact us if you notice any downtime.
Technologies and compatibility #
Which PHP versions are available? #
Our hosting is multi-version PHP: you pick the version matching your application and switch from your client area, with no ticket and no delay. You also choose the root folder of each hosting.
This is essential to run an older site pinned to a specific version alongside a modern application, or to test a version upgrade before committing to it.
Can I install WordPress, PrestaShop or another CMS? #
Yes, with no technical work required: our automatic installer sets up the CMS of your choice, WordPress, PrestaShop and the main CMS platforms, in two clicks from your client area. Files and database are configured for you.
You can also install any PHP application manually by uploading it over FTP/FTPS. The installer is an option, never a constraint.
Which databases do you offer? #
MariaDB 10.11 databases, managed through phpMyAdmin straight from your client area. You create, delete and recreate them at will, and add more to your project for 0.25 € per month each.
MariaDB is fully compatible with applications expecting MySQL: WordPress, PrestaShop, Laravel and Symfony all run without adaptation.
Can I use Composer, Git and scheduled tasks? #
Yes, all three are included. Composer handles your PHP dependencies, Git lets you deploy from your repository, and scheduled tasks (cron) automate anything that must run at regular intervals: sending emails, imports, cleanup, application-level backups.
Common PHP extensions are available, including GD, ImageMagick and Redis, covering image processing and caching.
Is the SSL certificate included? #
Yes, the SSL certificate is included on every hosting, at no extra cost and with nothing to enable. Your site is served over HTTPS, with the padlock browsers and search engines expect.
It is a baseline requirement today: without HTTPS, browsers display a security warning and your search ranking suffers.
How do I access my files? #
Through full FTP/FTPS access, with the client of your choice: FileZilla, WinSCP or your development environment. Your credentials are available as soon as the hosting is created and you keep control over your entire file tree.
A built-in file manager in the client area also lets you edit a file or fix an error quickly, without opening any third-party software.
Domain and mailboxes #
Can I use a domain name I already own? #
Yes. If you already own a domain, with any registrar, you simply point it to your hosting by updating its DNS configuration. The values to enter are shown in your client area and you copy them over at your registrar.
You can also attach a subdomain to an existing hosting, for a staging environment or a separate space. If you are unsure how to proceed, our support team will guide you.
Are professional mailboxes included? #
Mailboxes are resources you add to your project, for 0.40 € per month each, with the storage space you decide. So you pay for none of them if your site does not need any.
Each mailbox is a real professional address on your domain, with full credentials and its own quota, not a simple forwarding alias.
Can I read my email from Outlook or Thunderbird? #
Yes. Your mailboxes are available over IMAP, POP and SMTP, so they work with Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail and mobile apps. The connection settings are shown in your client area.
A Roundcube webmail is also available to read your messages from a browser, with nothing to configure.
CloudPods™ #
What is a CloudPod™? #
A CloudPod™ is a dedicated, isolated environment for running a specific tool or language. It comes with its own credentials, its real-time console and its file manager.
Typical uses: a Discord bot in Node.js, a Django application in Python, or a Redis database for volatile data. Because each CloudPod™ is isolated from the others, security and performance stay predictable.
What is the difference between web hosting and a CloudPod™? #
Web hosting is for publishing a website: web server, PHP, database, mailboxes. A CloudPod™ is for running a program continuously, in the language of your choice, with its own console and lifecycle.
They are two independent services: take one, the other, or both. A showcase site does not need a CloudPod™, and a Discord bot does not need web hosting.
Can I change my CloudPod™ technology? #
Yes, at any time and at no extra cost. You switch from Node.js to Python, or to any other available environment, in one click and without losing your files.
This helps when a project changes direction, or when you want to try another stack without starting over. New environments are added regularly.
How do CloudPod™ credits work? #
With every web hosting purchase, 10% of the amount paid is granted back as CloudPod™ credits. These credits are used exclusively to fund your CloudPods™ and are deducted automatically at checkout.
In practice, the larger your hosting project, the more CloudPods™ you can run at no extra cost. Credits stay on your account until you use them.
Management and support #
How do I manage my hosting day to day? #
Everything runs through Web. Board, your client area: files, databases, mailboxes, credentials and scheduled tasks, CMS installation and 30-day usage statistics.
The interface is designed to get to the point, with fewer buttons and more actions: the information you need is visible without endless navigation.
How do I contact WebStrator support? #
Three channels, 7 days a week: a ticket from your client area, best for anything involving your hosting or a payment since the team can see your account; the phone; and our Discord for quick exchanges.
For a sales enquiry or a general question, the contact form is the most direct route. Our team answers plainly, without a script.
How do I delete my account and my data? #
Open a request with support from your client area, or use the contact form. Deletion removes your account and the associated data, in line with GDPR.
Retrieve your files, databases and emails first: the operation is permanent. Some billing records are kept for as long as our legal obligations require.
